This is the story of my experiences living as an ex-pat in Mexico since 2003. It's to culminate in a published book. With your help, I'll be editing, selecting a title, and cover art: a participatory project. Your comments encouraged!

DaVida: Artivist Priestess

DaVida Salabert: The Artivist Priestess. Photo by DaVida Salabert

head shot

DaVida, originally from Spain, now lives in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico. Mexico attracts many internationally acclaimed creatives like her.

I met DaVida at the conference I attended at the end of January this year in Morelia, Michoacan. She intrigued me, and her book, even more so. This article is about her work and her book.  I felt fortunate to interview this international celebrity and present you with the video at the end.

NOTE: The images here might be triggering or offensive to some, because of their use of public nudity and violence to raise political awareness of important social justice issues. This material is not appropriate for viewing by children.

Jill Love Revolution

Before the Aritvist Priestess, DaVida identified herself as Jil Love Revolution. Below are some images from that stage in her career.

Artivist Priestess

DaVida exposes her body vulnerably, as you can see in the photos of her Artivism. Her story (or her herstory), expressed in words, shows raw spirituality and e-motion. The most significant part of her book, in my opinion, is the wisdom she shares—an expression from a high level of consciousness.

 Definitions from her reality:

Censorship:

There are worse crimes than banning books, one of them is not reading them.

Compassion:

It’s how you chose your free will that counts. The ultimate liberation of the human soul is by freeing others from their pain. It’s about intention with true connection. The more we chose compassion over judgement and curiosity over fear the more we will bring peace here are on earth. Perhaps that’s the biggest lesson we will learn and the reason we are here.

Twin soul flame:

The importance of meeting your twin soul flame is in the balancing of masculine and feminine dualities and reconciling and completing the polarity. This releases karmic energy.

Herstory:

I have collected all the stones thrown at me since childhood. I have now built a temple for the Goddess to “womanifest“ herself through me.

Reveal your beautiful wounds to the world with confidence and trust in yourself.

I didn’t come to this planet to “Play the Game,” I came here to change it.

Spiritual realities:

Pay attention to your ideas as they are messages of true Divine guidance sent in answer to your prayers. Keep your channels open and available to any signs and symbolism of the that will cross your path. You’re the messenger of the universe.

We are all powerful beyond measure, so why play small when you are the whole Universe? Our Souls get sick when our true spirit is suppressed. Take the courage to fulfill your divine calling.

The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

Spirituality without conflict is not spirituality.

. . . you cannot be anyone but YOU! Everyone else is taken.

Apathy and Neutrality are only helping the oppressor and the tyrant to endeavor the evil agendas without resistance or accountability. We must raise our voices when we witness crimes and injustice or when we are aware of it without being present.

The present battle:

We owe our respects and appreciation to all the men and women who have dreamed of a better life, a less hostile living and a more enjoyable planet for us to travel      through . . .

Now is the time when we are truly awakening and making sense of who we truly are and why we are here.

The human race is in an eternal battle for survival. You and I have it because the ones before toiled and died for us to have it. Are you going to ignore that reality and blindly move on wasting this opportunity to keep pioneering existence?

I'm not showing many images from the Artivist Priestess book. You can buy it and see more.

May 2. Interesting woman Don. Good interview too. I love how she's weaponizing msm imagry, used to enslave us, against the oligarchs who control it.

--Ed Hanrahan

Thanks, Ed. Why don't you ask her? I've included contact info in the article.

May 2. A very interesting interview.  Stirred my awareness. Also, it doesn't hurt that she is beautiful.

May 3. Wow, Don.  Thank you for sharing this beautiful woman's presence in your blog.  She is offering so much. Just listening to her gave me a sudden strong connection with my Mother who has passed to another world. I did not get along with my Mom, but something opened in me, I felt a melting forgiveness and I was flooded with memories and understanding of how much she did in keeping my kids connected and trying to support me in my troubles as well as provide community services to elders and be a unifying, stabilizing force in my family  of origin.  I realize it must have been a lot of effort for her, and I did not often acknowledge her genuine contributions.  This is a big breakthrough for me.  I am very grateful for hearing DaVida a speak about love. It can really cut through the noise of the ego and open up doors of consciousness like no other force. Great work!

Thanks for sharing how this affected you so deeply, Shen!

May 3. Very professional and engaging!  You strike a great balance between your subject's life and your interest in it. Did you redo the interview, this one was more understandable? And who is next??

-Dagen Julty

Thanks, Dagen. I think you are the next blog subject.
